About the Shop

Tattoo Bonbon is located in the heart of beautiful South Lake Tahoe, nestled upstairs in the historic building the Swiss Chalet Village. Its upstairs locale over looks the ever inspiring Tahoe pine trees. Built from the ground up, Tattoo BonBons walls are covered in hand painted art works guilded in gold frames. Think cozy Grandmas tree house with an eclectic twist. The tattoo procedure happens away from prying eyes making for a comfortable and intimate atmosphere. Clients are encouraged to bring a friend, music, or just chat it up with Eleanor BonBon. She has stories galore that could even make a statue laugh. Eleanor is the friend you haven't met yet, your tattooer extraordinaire.  She says "It would be my honor to be a part of your tattoo story."

Origin of BonBon

In a roundabout way, I named myself. As a baby, my grandma would feed me chocolate-covered ice cream commonly called bonbons. As legend has it, I started calling my grandma "Grandma Bonbon," and BonBon became her term of endearment for me.  In 2012 she passed. In Japan there is a custom to honor the spirits of one's ancestors called the Bon festival.  This festval inspired my decision to make Tattoo BonBon a reality. In honor of Grandma BonBon's memory I began building my private studio with the ethics and tenacity she ingrained in my spirit.  I needed a safe space for my clients and I to create thoughtful custom tattoos.  A place where comfort, cleanliness, and creativity blossomed in an everlasting bouquet.  In 2015 Tattoo BonBon was born.
